Renowned hotel Fredrick's has a reputation for refined and luxurious surroundings and attention to detail, with hotel guests enjoying high calibre accommodation, relaxing spa and attentive yet respectful service. As you'd expect, a trip to either of the hotel's restaurants is of a similar high standard so whether your preference is fine dining in the 3 AA rosette winning restaurant or a more informal meal, there is something lovely to enjoy.
Fredrick's Restaurant is elegantly furnished and serves exceptional food and fine wines with the focus very much on showcasing the best seasonal and local produce in traditional fare given an imaginative twist.
The menu we sampled included a memorable slow cooked Gloucestershire woodland pork belly with Isle of Man scallops and granny smith apple puree, and a roast saddle of rabbit with sautéed baby gem and grain mustard mash.
Meanwhile, Alfresco is Fredrick's latest venture, offering lighter meals in a more informal atmosphere, including the popular House Club sandwich with french fries and coleslaw and Fredrick's Caeser salad with organic chicken as well as some more modern, more inventive dishes, including Seafood brochettes, mango, prawn and chilli salsa, coconut rice parcels and leaves and Grilled lamb mignons, roasted Mediterranean vegetables.
The constantly changing set menu of the day provides a good value way of tasting the best the kitchen has to offer without breaking the bank, making Fredrick's somewhere you can visit regularly for a decadent treat without having to endure a decadent price tag.
